Scooter’s Burgers and Shakes is a fast-food establishment located in Ballard, WA.
The goal from the onset was celebrate the drive-in fast food designs of the past by creating a mark that felt retro in its styling but uses at its center the modern convenience of an electric scooter.
Beyond the updated identity system, a facelift to its street face was also envisioned as the existing facility felt tired and not nearly as inviting. The design would again echo the drive-in style restaurants from the 50s and 60s by constructing an exterior frame that would be emblematic of the roof lines from those iconic facilities. Additionally, this new structure would allow for the introduction of new signage, as well as visually framing the new walk-up/scoot-up counter where folks can easily place orders.
Escapement Media is a media company that specializes in providing photography, videography and copy services to watch brands.
The objective was to design a mark that felt bold, modern, and had timeless/evergreen aura. The monogram mark was constructed in such a way to give a sense of visual dimension. Conceptually, this is intended to tie back to the depth of services (photo, video and copy) the company provides which sets them apart from their competition.

From the onset, there was a desire for the logo to adopt the company’s mascot for the primary mark. The word mark would also contain some hints to “ears” to create a secondary mark that could be used as a less illustrative mark.
